Realme held a launch event in China. The former unveiled the much-awaited Realme Watch and Smart TV, the company launched the gaming-focused Realme X50 Pro Player Edition in China. This can be seen as a slightly cheaper version of the flagship Realme X50 Pro launched earlier this year.
The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition boasts a redesigned, 48MP quad-camera setup and some gaming-related upgrades under the hood. Most of the hardware and internal specs remain the same as the original X50 Pro, so check the details here. I’m going to focus on what’s new in the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition instead of listing the entire specs.
Realme X50 Pro Player Edition: What’s New
First of all, Realme X50 Pro Player Edition has brought a new design. The company is known for its shiny shield back panel and this flagship phone is no different. The company has swapped matte finish glass on the Realme X50 Pro for a shiny 3D curved glass panel on the Player Edition. And, also comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front.
As I mentioned above, the interior is similar to its elder brother. This means that you have Snapdragon 865 SoC, with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. However, the biggest upgrade of the Realme X50 Pro Player Edition is a cooling system. It includes a vapor chamber inside and multi-layer graphene sheets to maintain temperature during gaming.
Hardware cooling systems have been combined with Hyperboost 3.0 technology. Realme states that the phone will allocate all chipset, memory, and battery resources towards providing an advanced gaming experience to the user.
The Realme X50 Pro Player Edition swaps the original 64MP quad-camera array for the 48MP quad-camera array. This is a slight drop on the original X50 Pro.
Here the primary 48MP camera is coupled with an onboard 8MP ultra-wide camera, 12MP telephoto camera, and 2MP mono lens instead of a 2MP macro camera. For the dual-camera punch-hole cutout on the front, the device has a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It is also a downgrade to the 32MP primary + 8MP ultra-wide camera setup over the original.
Apart from this, Realme has not made any other changes in its flagship smartphone. You still get a 6.44-inch full-HD + AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 4,200mAh battery pack with 65W Superdart fast charging support, and 5G connectivity support out-of-the-box. The device runs Android 10-based Realme UI.
