Realme Smart TV with 32-inch, 43-inch Screen Sizes Launched in India; Starting at Rs. 12,999

Within the last two years, Realme has expanded its portfolio to take on its arch-nemesis – Xiaomi. It started with smartphones but has since morphed into audio products, wearables, and other accessories. Today, the Chinese giant has entered the smart TV segment, which is currently dominated by Mi TV, with the launch of Realme Smart TV. It comes in two sizes, 32-inch and 43-inch to boot, and is loaded with features.

Realme Smart TV: Specs and Features

Let me start by saying that the Realme Smart TV lineup is launching with only one HD-ready 32-inch and full-HD 43-inch model. It is only the resolution that the two types differ while the rest of the specifications are the same. Realme plans to launch more screen sizes with 4K resolution support in the future.

  • Design and Display

Just above the bat, one thing you will notice about the Realme Smart TV is the premium-looking bezel-less design. It is an LED-backlit panel that, according to the press release, is as thin as 8.7 mm at the top and sides. The bezel is slightly thicker to accommodate the bezel logo but the TV looks quite attractive. You can either Realme Smart TV or wall-mount, it depends on your choice.

Both 32-inch and 43-inch smart TVs are improved by the Chroma Boost Picture Engine to “improve brightness, color, contrast, and clarity to enhance overall picture quality and deliver stunning visuals.” The TVs support 400 nits of brightness, 178-degree viewing angle, HDR 10 / HLG support, and up to seven display modes.

  • Internals

Under the hood, the Realme Smart TV is powered by a quad-core 64-bit MediaTek chipset (featuring the ARM Cortex A53 CPU, up to 1.1 GHz) and Mali-470MP2 GPU. Both TVs have 1GB 2133MHz RAM and 8GB built-in storage board. It seems slightly less than other smart TVs in this segment, which typically include up to 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

Both of these smart TVs also feature 24W quad-speakers with Dolby audio support on the bottom. There are two sets of speakers on each side (12W), including a full-range speaker (handles and meads) and a tweeter (handles high frequencies).

  • Software

Realme Smart TV runs Vanilla Android TV 9.0, Google’s latest OS for television sets. There is no puffy skin at the top and it is amazing you have YouTube, Netflix and Prime Video pre-installed on the board, allowing you to enjoy the content to your heart’s content. If you want access to more games or streaming apps, you can always go to the Google Play Store which comes pre-installed on the board.

You also get the facility of Google Assistant on Realme Smart TV. It enables you to get answers to questions, play content, and most importantly, control your smart home from your smart TV.

  • Connectivity

Talking about the port, the placement is the same in both variants. The Realme Smart TV includes 3x HDMI, 2x USB, 1x Ethernet, 1x SPDIF, 1x AV port, 1x antenna in port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Other connectivity options include 2.4GHz WiFi (yes, you cannot connect to high-speed 5GHz networks), Bluetooth 5.0, infrared, and more. The Realme Smart TV includes only a stand and not a wall mount inside the box. So, if you want to mount a smart TV, you have to install it separately.

Realme Smart TV: Remote

Now before we talk about pricing and availability, let’s have a look at the Realme TV remote. This remote is not as agile as the OnePlus TV remote but is chunky and feature-packed. It includes a circular button, flanked by the power of the on / off button, and a mute switch on top. The home, settings, and back buttons sit just below it.

You can clearly see the quick buttons for Netflix, YouTube, and Prime Video sitting downstairs. There is also an input source selection button next to it, which will work when you switch to your local cable connection.

The remote can be operated via both infrared and Bluetooth. However, you must connect the remote to Bluetooth to access Google Assistant via a hotkey. The remote comes with built-in mics to let you activate the assistant.

Realme Smart TV: Price and Availability

The 32-inch Realme Smart TV is priced at Rs. 12,999 while the 43-inch variant gives you Rs. 21,999 for larger screen and higher resolution. These two smart TVs will go on sale on Flipkart and Realme’s website from 2nd June. Stay connected with TUBEXTECH for such more information.
