Realme Buds Air Neo with Touch Controls, 17-Hours Playback Launched at Rs. 2,999

Along with the much-awaited Realme Smart TV and Realme Watch, the company also launched a cheaper version of its genuine wireless earbuds which was unveiled early last year. Called Realme Buds Air Neo, these earbuds look similar to the original but lack some premium features such as in-ear wear detection and wireless charging.

Realme Buds Air Neo: Specs and Features

Starting with the design, the Realme Buds Air Neo looks exactly like the original Buds Air. The charging case and earbuds both look the same. There is only one way to distinguish between the two, namely the air-hole cutout at the top. This is similar to what you might have seen on Apple’s earphones, to equalize pressure and offer better acoustics.

Each earbud weighs only 4.1 grams while the charging case weighs 30.5 grams. They are super lightweight and should be comfortable to use, thanks to the semi-ear design. The earbuds are equipped with 13mm dynamic bass boost drivers compared to the 12mm drivers aboard the original Buds Air. Realme has baked the R1 chip, along with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity support.

Realme Buds Air Neo supports instant auto connection via Android’s Fast Pair feature to enable quick pairing of earbuds with your smartphone. Like its older siblings, the Buds Air Neo also supports touch controls. You can tap twice to answer a call or play music, three times to change the track, and long press to invoke a voice assistant.

In addition, you can long-press on both earbuds to enable super-low latency mode, which brings the wireless latency to 119ms. This will be useful for gamers. If you want to customize touch controls, you can do it from the Realme Link app.

Realme Buds Air Neo

Earbuds only offer up to 3 hours of continuous playback, which is super low. However, you get a total of 17 hours of playback with a charging case. It can charge your earbuds 5 times and it takes more than 1 hour to charge the case. Realme Buds Air Neo has swapped the USB Type-C port for the old-gen micro USB port on this cheaper variant.

With only 3 hours of continuous playback, you have to take breaks more often than not charging the earbuds and this can be a hassle. OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z are neckband-style wireless earphones that cost a few bucks and offer up to 20 hours of playback on a single charge.

Price and availability

Realme Buds Air Neo Price Rs. 2,999 in India and will be available in three color variants, namely Pop White, Punk Green, and Rock Red. Sadly, the company does not make its more affordable earbuds available in signature yellow.

The white-colored version will go on sale for the first time today at 3:00 pm. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart and Reality’s website. The green and red variants are coming soon, as revealed during the online launch event. Stay connected with TUBEXTECH for more information.
