Mi Notebook 14, Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition with 10th-Gen Intel CPU Launched in India

priced starting at Rs. 41,999

Xiaomi has stepped into the laptop market in India today. Yes, fans have been harassing the Chinese veteran for years to bring his laptop into the country, and finally, the day has come. Xiaomi has today launched the Mi Notebook 14 lineup in India. This includes the Mi Notebook 14 and a new 14 Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition ‘that was never launched globally before.

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition

The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition boasts an all-metal design on the outside without any branding – clean and minimal. It is made of an aluminum and magnesium alloy and weighs just 1.35 kg. Unlike the Mi notebook variants in China, neither Indian variant is baked with a fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking via Windows Hello.

Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition

The laptop offers a 14-inch full-HD anti-glare LCD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 16: 9 aspect ratio and 91% screen-to-body ratio. The panel boasts a 178-degree viewing angle, 1000: 1 contrast ratio and 250 knots of bright brightness. Since the bezels here are super small, you won’t get a built-in webcam.

Speaking of internal, the laptop is powered by a 10th-gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor, with a maximum clock speed of 4.9GHz. It comes with 8GB 2666MHz DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD storage. You also get a dedicated GPU in tow here. The Nvidia GeForce MX350 (2GB) caters to the graphics needs on the Horizon version, allowing you to enjoy some casual gaming. You can also give this laptop some light video editing.

The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon version includes a chiclet keyboard (not full size) with a 1.3 mm travel and a fairly moderately sized trackpad. The laptop includes a single fan for better cooling and a larger 2350 square-millimeter air intake area. You also get Mi Smart Share for faster file sharing and Blaze Unlock to unlock the laptop using Mi Band. You can read about installing it here.

Mi Notebook 14 Ports

For the I / O port, you get a single USB 2.0 port on the left side and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The right edge consists of two USB 3.1, an HDMI 1.4B, and a USB Type-C port. You also get WiFi 802.11ac (WiFi 5, 2 x 2) and Bluetooth 5.0 as wireless connectivity options.

The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition is equipped with a 48Wh battery, which the company promises that you should last up to 10 hours on a single charge. The laptop, as teased earlier last week, supports 1C fast-charging. It can juice your battery from 0% to 50% in just 30 minutes, which is great.

Mi Notebook 14

The standard Mi Notebook 14 has some noticeable differences – both on the design and internal front. This version is basically a rebranded version of RedmiBook 14 Pro, which made its debut in China in August last year.

Mi Notebook 14

The most obvious difference between the two variants is bezels. The Mi Notebook 14 comes with a 14-inch full-HD display with thick bezels around 1920 x 1080 resolution, 178-degree viewing angle, and 250 bright peak brightness. Even though we have large bezels here, you will not find a built-in webcam. However, Xiaomi will bundle an external HD webcam in the box.

For internal, you still get 10th-gen Intel Core processors but this is Intel Core i5-10510U (Comet Lake) in this variant. It is coupled with 8GB of 2666MHz RAM, 512GB of SATA 3 SSD onboard, and up to 2GB of Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics memory.

The connectivity and battery features for this version are similar to the Horizon version, so, yes, you’re not missing anything here.

Price and availability

The Mi Notebook 14 comes in three configurations and its price starts at Rs. 41,999 in India. You can find the prices of all three variants listed below:

  • 8GB + 256GB – Rs. 41,999
  • 8 GB + 512 GB – Rs. 44,999

The Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition comes in two variants. The Core-i5 variant is priced at Rs. 54,999 while the Core-i7 variant costs you Rs. 59,999. Both laptops come in the same color – mercury gray and it looks quite amazing in real life. Both these laptops will start from June 17 on Amazon India, Mi.com, and offline Mi stores across India.
